This week we're examining Gabriel's announcement to Mary, whom he calls the "highly favored one", that she is to be the bearer of the Lord and Savior of Israel and all of mankind. Get prepared, as we explore how we, each of us, are God's highly favored ones.
For those of us who are ancient, we remember the Danny Thomas show of the 50's, "Make Room for Daddy". It's Advent season, and as we approach Christmas our guest speaker this morning, Jean Watson, shares with us how we might begin preparing for the annual remembrance of the birth of our Lord and Savior. Let's prepare to make room for Jesus.
Mrs. Watson is a composer, violinist and singer. She also has a daily radio program broadcast in the United Kingdom, sharing the love of Jesus. For 400 years before the birth of Jesus, God was silent. No prophet, no communication of any sort was heard. But then, out of the blue, Gabriel shows up, the one who stands in the Presence of God. But what is the one and the two of this 1-2 punch? Let's listen.
Here we are again... Thanksgiving. While so many have participated in a tradition of sharing around the Thanksgiving table something for which they can be thankful before diving into the turkey and fixings, this year Pastor Nancy shares from her book of morning meetings with the Lord her top ten best. Each day, before the madness gets rolling, she sits by the front window looking into the woods, sitting in her Norwegian Uncle Flink's grand old oak rocking chair and searches Scripture. And every once in a while there's a verse or verses that slaps her in the face. Those moments that you know that you know that you know that our Living God has something particularly just for you. And at that moment you know you are loved by Him and Him alone. Let's listen as she shares.

Pastor Ken explores, during this Christmas time, the characteristics of the names given to Jesus in Isaiah. The amazement is that these are not just labels, tags that identify the nature and characteristics of Jesus. They are descriptives of the power behind the names; the power to change our lives and our behavior.
It's Christmas time again. As long as we're in the giving mood, today we're going to discuss the kind of giving that goes year round. How much of us are we willing to give?
We all want more peace in our lives, but how many of us are willing to shut up and listen. Why is it so important that others know our opinion about everything?! So much disagreement can be turned to unity if only we learned patience, keeping back, listening. Result... a quiet heart. Peace.
There's an old adage 'You can live about 40 days without food, 6 days without water, but you can't live 1 second without hope'. We're looking into Isaiah today, examining seven good reasons for hope. Today more than ever we as individuals as well as nations as a whole need to understand these realities that are coming our way, probably in the very near future.
