Let's clarify. Of course He wants you to have joy in your life, and happiness too for that matter. But I think we've all heard the expression, typically when someone wants to do whatever it is they want to do, regardless of the circumstances. So what is it that God does want? Let's listen to the events of Mark, chapter 6.

We've all seen what happens. Pond scum, not a pretty sight. Today we're looking at Moses' experience in the wilderness when needing to provide water for the newly freed Israelites. The story supplies some great images and a most necessary application.
God is looking to change us from the inside out.
We usually think of worship as being what we do on Sundays. Not so. Today Ken continues in Romans chapter 12 and looks at what real worship is and what it looks like.
We've parenthetically labeled this part 2, as it is very much the companion of the audio of July 9 of 2017. This also could have just as easily been titled "All In". Are we? The Lord really does want all of us. The point isn't to be burdened or to be guilted into commitment but to take time for honest inventory of our journey toward total commitment to the Lord.
This week we're taking a different look at the "Peter do you love Me" passage. So many sermons have to do with the nuances of the word love, but that's not where we're going this time.
Yes, you're going to have to listen to the entire sermon for that one. But it relates. Words have power, and they should be directed toward the things that count, the things that make the difference in life. We're still in the life of Peter.
In Psalm 25 the Lord speaks of those who are willing to allow their will to be bent by Him. That's followed by a direct connection to Him, in turn, coaching and personally instructing them in good judgement, particularly to those who will be placed in positions of authority and have the power to exact good, balanced justice in a society bent on evil. That would be helpful in today's society, bent on destruction.
The time is getting closer. Get ready. We've all known people that give great lip service but in the end hardly ever follow through. The frightening fact is, however, that there are people who, when standing before the Living God, are going to be sent straight to hell who thought they were doing God's service but whose heart was far from Him. "But Lord have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?. But He will respond "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!"
Lordship. We need to get hold of this truth. I'm sure we've all said it at some point in our lives, "If I only knew then what I know now". Exactly. That goes right along side "Youth is wasted on the young". How did we as a society get to where we are now? Without God and His code of ethics, determining right from wrong ends up being nothing more than your opinion vs. the next person and what they think. But that's not the end game. More from the parables.
