Jesus, willing to give His life as a sacrifice for all of mankind, has always been Plan A.

Quite frequently Christianity is criticized for being male dominant and chauvinistic. If you're willing to spend even a modicum of time reading the accounts of the resurrection, you'd be hard pressed to make that argument. If it weren't for the women, we'd all still be stumbling around in the dark feeling the wall to find the light switch. Here's this Easter's message; it's a good one.
You know, Israel's kings were not to accumulate horses, a key instrument of military might. They were instructed to ride a donkey. And here is the King of kings, riding into Jerusalem the week of His laying down of His life for us, being born not by just a donkey, but the foal of a donkey. He could have the power of the universe at His command, but no. When He arrived as a babe in a manger, where I'm sure there were sheltered donkeys, the heavens opened and a choir of angels appeared giving praise to the newborn King. And now, at the end, riding in on a foal, praises for this man-God-king explode from the crowd. Praising God; a good lesson for the day.
Sceptics have always been in abundance, particularly when it comes to believing in God in general, and even in Jesus more specifically, let alone His resurrection. And you would think that particularly in this advanced age of technology that all religion would be relegated to the trash bin of myth and allegory. But not so. In fact science is now beginning to answer the age old question of how light which is billions of light years away could have been visible by Adam in 6 short 24 hour days. Hmm...that's a mind bender, but it's true, and we're beginning to discover how that happened. But let's get back to the subject at hand. Jesus rising from the dead. The power of testimony still stands today. Let's take a second look.
I think because it's been 2000 years since Jesus' resurrection that many people do not believe it to be true, and therefore they don't really considering that He is God and that what He has told us is the absolute truth. There's much to say about that: Why 2000 years? Is He coming back, and if so, when? We'll get into that some day soon, but what about right now? Today, with all the fear and insanity, particularly with a worldwide pandemic? Take a moment, a breath, and listen. God bless, and happy Easter and Passover Week.
Over the past few weeks we've been talking about the walls in life we build around ourselves. We just had Easter, the very event which broke down the final wall between us and our God. That's the biggest deal of all; not having any fear of death, as it has absolutely no control over us who entrust our lives to and in our Living Lord. Emphasis on Living.
