...Off the bus, out of the car...you're no longer in the driver's seat. It's time for Wisdom to take over, and that is only accomplished through the engine of the Spirit. Circumstances of life can, will, and do drive us to that point... if we will let it.

We pick up from last week in our reflection of our situation, both nationally and individually during this difficult time in our history.
Right now both our nation and the world are experiencing and witnessing a trial that none of us ever anticipated. We usually think of sermon applications as something strictly personal but not much more than that. Maybe we need to think outside that box, maybe regionally... nationally... globally this time. Time for some introspection.
With the very real concern everyone has regarding the Corona virus, the reaction, e.g. the incredible run on toilet rolls leaving empty shelves, is indicative of mass reactions which can oftentimes lead to very unpleasant results. And what should our response be. Certainly to be responsible in our courtesy and care for others, but also not to be overtaken by fear and undue concern. The world doesn't get it, but our Living God has absolute control over what occurs in and on His planet. And nothing is going to go any further than He Who wills it. Period.
We need to get a grip on that reality and to understand our need to turn our attention to Him, and in prayer, and in every and all circumstances. Listen up to our message regarding the next beatitude, peacemakers. As we continue in the Beatitudes, it's time for mercy, which is not about 'what goes around comes around'.
The new fad; going on separate trips after the wedding. You go take the trip you'd like and I'll go on mine and we'll catch up with each other when we get back home. See you later. God is about relationships. Today we're looking at sex, marriage, and relationships.
Or tape over your mouth, whichever works best. Jesus did state that it's not the food you eat that defiles you but the words that come out of your mouth. They not only reflect what's in your heart, but once spoken, often initiate after-effects that you may not like. He also talked about the ears and eyes being the windows to your soul. Let's be careful to guard our heart.
Auto pilot living does not get you wisdom. Today we continue in Proverbs chapter 3.
Sometimes when we wake in the morning we feel "hey, life is so good", and other times it's a struggle to even get out of bed. And in between those moments are the ups and downs, the connector points, the things that make up the stuff of life.
Wisdom is our subject. We are in Proverbs, chapter 3. There's an old adage: Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
